Price on requestWe source classic Mercedes-Benz cars privately for buyers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi: the W113 Pagoda SL, the 560 SEC coupe, the early W463 G-Wagen and, on request, the 300SL. As of 2026, good-to-excellent driver cars run from about $25,000 for a 560 SEC or a 300GE to $150,000 for a top 280SL, with the 300SL priced per car. Every one of them is past the RTA's 30-year classic line, so each can be registered in Dubai on a Classic plate once it passes the technical test.
Classic Mercedes also have unusually deep support in the region. Saudi Arabia has named classic Mercedes restoration and sales specialists in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam, and Mercedes-Benz Classic keeps factory records for older cars. That makes a good car's provenance easier to prove, and a car without it easier to spot.

The ranges below are USD market bands for good-to-excellent driver cars, taken from the published auction and price-guide data on each model page. They are not Dubai asking prices: a car landed from abroad also carries 5% UAE duty and 5% VAT, and concours cars sit above every band.

Which classic Mercedes suits which buyer
Four very different cars share the badge. The right one depends on how you will use it in the Gulf, not only on budget.
W113 Pagoda SL: the open car
Built from 1963 to 1971, 48,913 in total, with a mechanically fuel-injected inline-six and the hardtop that gave it its name. It is the most requested classic Mercedes for a reason, and the one where rust hides best behind good paint. Around 90% of 280SLs left the factory as automatics, so a manual or the rare 5-speed ZF car is priced up. Details on the Pagoda SL page.
560 SEC: the V8 grand tourer
The flagship W126 coupe, built from 1985 to 1991 with a 5.5 litre V8 and a 4-speed automatic only. It is cheap to buy and expensive to sort if neglected, and in the UAE the climate control deserves first attention: it is complex, and a non-working system is a costly repair and a real negotiation point. See the 560 SEC page.
G-Wagen 300GE: the original G
The 1990 to 1994 300GE, with a 3.0 litre inline-six and three fully locking differentials. The modern G-Class is a status car across the Gulf, but that is a different market: the classic 300GE averages around $36,100 on recorded sales and is judged on rust and working differential locks. See the classic G-Wagen page.
300SL: Gullwing and Roadster
The car the SL name began with: 1,400 Gullwing coupes from 1954 to 1957 and 1,858 Roadsters from 1957 to 1963. At this level every car is priced on its own history, so we quote it per car. See the Mercedes 300SL page.

Get Mercedes options in DubaiWhat we check on a classic Mercedes before you pay
Every car goes through the same file, and the Mercedes-specific points are these. The inspection itself is done by an independent specialist you approve, named before you pay, as set out on how we verify a car.
- Factory records from Mercedes-Benz Classic, such as the data card, compared with the chassis, engine and gearbox numbers on the car
- Structural rust at each model's known points: Pagoda floors, sills and front wings, the W126 area under the rear screen, the G-Wagen's rear body corners and tailgate
- Bosch mechanical fuel injection on the Pagoda, which is costly specialist work when neglected
- Climate control and air conditioning on the 560 SEC, and cooling systems on all four, since Gulf heat finds weak ones fast
- All three differential locks engaging and releasing on a 300GE
- Service books and restoration invoices, with gaps written into the report
Registering a classic Mercedes in Dubai
Every model on this page is over 30 years old, so each qualifies for RTA classic registration once it passes the technical test on brakes, lights, tyres and structural integrity. Most cars supplied new to Europe and the US are left-hand drive, which suits standard UAE registration. A car from the UK or Japan will usually be right-hand drive and relies on the classic pathway, which we plan at the full 30 years. Duty is 5% of CIF value and VAT 5% on top, with no discount for classics. Shipping and customs are covered on importing a classic car to the UAE, and what the plate means afterwards on classic car plates in Dubai.
Selling a classic Mercedes privately in the UAE
If you own one of these cars in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and want to sell without a listing, we start with a quiet valuation against real comparables and bring one qualified buyer at a time. A factory data card, service books and fuel injection or climate control invoices do more for the price than new paint. Our guide to selling a classic car privately covers the process, and classic cars for sale in Dubai and the UAE shows the wider market.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a classic Mercedes cost in Dubai?
As of 2026, good-to-excellent driver cars run from about $25,000 for a 560 SEC or a G-Wagen 300GE, through $55,000 to $150,000 for a W113 Pagoda SL depending on variant, with the 300SL priced per car. A car imported into the UAE also pays 5% duty and 5% VAT.
Can a classic Mercedes get a classic plate in Dubai?
Yes, for every model on this page. The 300SL, Pagoda SL, 560 SEC and 300GE are all over 30 years old, so each can be registered as a classic once it passes RTA's technical test on brakes, lights, tyres and structural integrity.
What should I check on a classic Mercedes in the Gulf climate?
Air conditioning and climate control first, especially on the 560 SEC where repairs are expensive, then the cooling system, tyres and rubber seals, which age fastest in heat. After that, the structural rust points specific to each model and the factory records that prove the numbers.
Do you have a 300SL for sale in Dubai?
We do not publish stock. A 300SL is priced on its own history, Gullwing or Roadster, steel or aluminium body, matching numbers and ownership record. Tell us what you are after and we will tell you, privately, what the network holds.
Tell us which Mercedes you are after
